Chick-a-Bee Gardens came to be in 2004 on a Gilbert property with deep soils and flood irrigation. The hobby farm began as a horse pasture and has grown to include a fruit and pecan orchard and an ever expanding landscape with a growing list of herbs and heirloom vegetables.
Naturally grown and sustainable, it would be incomplete without chickens and bees. The chicken coop is home to over 100 happy hens of many varieties that pasture free-range, rolling out three to four dozen eggs per day.
The bees find nearby acres of mesquite and citrus and are indispensable in assuring many of our vegetable crops pollinate. Our big red barn is home to our three horses whose composted manure keeps our garden soil loose and rich.
Surprisingly, Sonoran desert gardening allows for year-round planting and harvesting. Produce is sold on-site every Thursday from 2p-6p and Friday 8a-12pm.
Our produce is certified naturally grown and locally harvested both of which have been shown to benefit the immune system and reduce risk of contamination and infection. We also support Arizona Local Food and Fill Your Plate.
Chick-a-Bee Gardens is a hobby farm. Our mission is to deliver the highest quality, most flavorful and unique edibles to your table.
